Portraits from 3rd Friday -December

So back in December of 2011, I decided it was time that I finally go out to the art walk, and draw people live.

And I had been doing so bad for several previous months that I really needed to start making extra money. So only 15$ gets you a custom portrait! All you have to do is try and sit still for about 20 to 30 minutes. All these guys and I were conversing for a good amount of the time. Next time (which is apparently this Friday..) I will let people know when to 'pose' their mouths. Or else its just a generic not-much-of-a-smile version, due to -thats just how it goes. for now. (:

It was sooo freezing that night! Not literally, but I was trying hard not to shiver, and I think my fingers went numb! So this Friday I plan to do the drawing during the day, and leave by dark. I'll be out there (in MADE's courtyard) for a few hours.. Maybe three. I'll update the info on my fb page. Anyway still had a lot of fun doing the portraits though! Great first night, and a good turnout, I didn't expect even one!

I live to create Art

I haven't been updating recently, haven't been blogging.
For the past four months or so.. I feel I've been growing and changing a lot. One aspect of it is, I've been working harder on my work, and also on myself.
I think with all that change going on, it's hard to know which parts of me to share about here.

I don't know if I have an answer. But I will be going with my gut. So it should turn out alright.

Very recently, past week or so, I've been remastering some of my art work. For a new "portfolio", we've been upgrading our art walk format. Next month we intend to incorporate digital frames to our table display. Each frame will be cycling our best work. One for BrokeBot, one for Aldo, and one for me. I'm excited about it. It will allow us to display only very nice framed, ready to hang artwork on the table (and eventually on portable walls). We've also recently purchased a very nice large format printer. So we've now been bringing out some giclee prints of our work, to First Fridays.

I realize part of why I don't know what to share here, at the moment, is because the blog received a break, and I also don't have a very large audience here, so it mostly comes off as a personal internet journal of me and my art. Which is okay. But I wasn't sure if it was okay before.

Gosh. I really do just want to be myself. In my own personal life, and with my art. I think the easier of the two, is being myself through Art. I didn't have trouble painting sad art, I didn't even know I was doing it, until the people at First Friday passing by my table pointed it out, years ago. I have come to accept that since then.

The BrokeBot collab project helps sort me out. With and through it, we make artwork to sell. Artwork to helps us survive while still creating art for a living. So, I really love BrokeBot. We are able to create artwork never possible without the other, being Aldo and me.

But enough sappy stuff. lol. I am okay. I don't mind if this blog really is kinda personal, I didn't intend for it to be this way, but I suppose it's just a part of who I am.. as dare I say, an Artist. And I only say it that way, because.. there are so many people who so easily call themselves that. I don't feel average, I feel like I want to do so much, I want to express so much.

When I get real sad and depressed about whatever, I can look up at the characters in my paintings, and they seem to comfort me. I feel like I paint so I can have a reminder that I am not the only one who feels deep pain at times. I am not alone. Even if I feel like I am. I am not alone. and I am okay.

Me having issues to fix, doesn't mean I can't do great things anyway. I want to be a much much better version of who I was meant to be.

I think I was always going to be making art, but one way I was going to be working full time at a job I hated while slowly making art, the other way, I have all the time in the world dedicated to create all that I want to create. And I am lucky to be a part of the latter, I'm lucky enough that the life I have now, allows me to do exactly what I want.

And all I'm willing to work hard at, is Art.

I was nervous to leave the house, but I finally made it out! & it ended up being a really great night! I had a lot of fun talking to everyone. I even got to talk with Colin Chillag! A very great painter, fellow current resident of Arizona. Thank you Sean Deckert for inviting me to participate in this invitational group show! I appreciate the opportunity so much! :)

This painting doesn't have a name yet, But I have till Tuesday night to name him.
I made him in two sittings, one for maybe 30 min, and the other for a couple hours.
He'll be hanging at a local Art boutique/gallery space called Indie ArtHouse next Friday! Nov. 18th! I'll be stopping in for a bit at some point. :) Its a 5x5" small format show.

What I'm working on this week

I took this picture yesterday morning. After taking it I worked on the piece on the lower left, its another mixed media, I added some oil to it (to her face and hair mainly). The painting on the right hand side, has been an on going one, it has required a lot of layers.., I paint some, then I let it dry to not mess up what I've made, then I add more layers, usually it dries to the touch over night. And that bird painting in the corner; I just felt like I needed to paint a bird, its called a Lilac Breasted Roller bird, I believe. I will frame it up really nice, and list it in my Shop.

So that's about it, these are the paintings I hope to finish up this week, I'll also be stretching and varnishing some giclee prints. Those will also be listed on my shop eventually. Okay I gotta get back to it, I aim for 6 hours of work a day, at the very least. And I have a list to work from now, that I decide on the night before, So all I have to do is get to work!

In Progress Mixed Media Work

So Hello. Like I mentioned before I've been doing some mixed media on illustration board recently, last couple weeks. Apart from still continuing to work on oil paintings, I have a few in progress, but they take many layers + days of drying in between, I alternate between a couple paintings at a time. Anyway here is a mixed media one I've recently scanned. It's still in progress, I want to layer on more paint on this one,, currently its watercolor, graphite, spray paint, ink, & acrylic.
I scanned earlier stages of it as I worked on it, a bit, it was less green then. & Aldo (@champagnerobot) (other half of BrokeBot), worked on it off of there, I did a bit too, it turns digital at this point. So stay tuned for the BrokeBot version! (& Also stay tuned for what I end up doing with this one..)!

I never went to art school or had painting classes. I just went straight to making finished paintings.. Sharing them on the streets, and selling a few prints of them here and there, for over 4 years. I've been slowly upgrading how I present my First Friday table/booth.

I've also been, with every painting, trying to learn new skills and techniques to make better paintings. But then I realize that I never was taught anything about painting, so I never really practiced like you would with still lives and etc at art school. And now there are so many more things I want to do.. as well as the practice.. But I have to set time to learn also. In my own way. And learn the fundamentals of oil painting.

I'm trying to make a schedule for myself and manage my time the best way that I can, so I can always be balanced enough to work at high productivity. Or at least steady. It's been a struggle, but if it hadn't been then I wouldn't be getting better. And I think I have.. bit by bit.

Currently I have a list of the next things I'm working on, at least 3, and working on those for however long before moving down the list. and repeat until one is complete and add another. So far so good.. Today has been a bit of a slow day, but I'll try to finish up this item on the list, its drawing and inking something. I'm about half way there.

I have so many projects/paintings going on at the same time right now.., especially with BrokeBot. I can start so many pieces of art, and use them for myself and finish them, but I can also set aside a scan of it, to work on with Aldo. ..and that turns into something totally different from there. Things I don't automatically think of. And it's always just the right amount. And it works (we like them at least). We get to use each of our skills and creativity and combining to make one new piece of art work.. (and adding it to our shop!) The outcome is a piece that we literally couldn't make without the other.. and something totally not what we would make normally. Of course that scale varies.. So, speaking of, I'll go ahead and post one here. :)

Have to stop consuming so much. Every morning, thats all I want to do.. and of course it's cool. but I want to produce ART. produce like the wind! I want to do so much with my work, I want to have soo much work. I ache a bit in thinking of alll the hard work that that requires.
But thats really really all I want.

But I do it so much, that I keep trying to not do so much, so that I can do more for longer.. but I'm not sure how that all works.. I just need to work more, all the time. On anything! I'll show you later what I'm up to. Today I'm back to the painting you see posted bellow this entry.. worked on the middle girl yesterday for a bit, but it was giving me a hard time. So today I'm tackling the girl on the right, which will be very green/turquoise, and then the girl in the center again. Due date: this Saturday the 8th! & the night before that is First Friday, & the day after is my bff's b-day! plus the Show. Lots of stuff.

Progress from yesterday & today. This was a canvas given to me by Jorge, who is putting together a show.. for the benefit of a children's art organization. 30X48" I'm working in oil. Refining my progress as I go.. I've been doing research to help me out with the technicalities of oil painting. & I feel on my way. I just hope to paint faster some time! But for now. A Very Large Painting Will be Painted Soon

I'm participating in a group show over at Hair Pollution again, in phoenix, in October. It's to raise money for a children's art outreach organization..(details later), all proceeds go to the organization. I think, anyway. I picked up the provided canvas for it today ..and my oh my, I am.. maybe honored, maybe scared. It measures 35 X 48 inches! It barely fit in my car (its a 2-seater!) but I managed to fit it and myself into the car just fine. The point is,.. This is a Large canvas to paint on. I've purchased a 30 X 40 inch canvas I know what I'm painting on it, I just haven't painted it in oil yet. So I haven't actually ever painted on something larger than 18 X 24. This will be a new experience! My dilemma will be that I can't paint anything too elaborate, or too layered (layers of glaze) due to drying time, even though that IS what I ultimately want to be making..Like amazing Renascence paintings. I have to paint something good, Just using a different technique... A Fast one. My painting ways/techniques have been so scattered, since working in oil.. But, I'm trying to teach myself Legit tips! Trying to figure out my perfect process.

anyway, I have to get back to painting now. I'm working digitally today, on a pencil drawing I made and scanned. It will be a 3rd "beehive hair" girl. Pictures coming later!

❥ Obi supervising me the other day (everyday really) as I finished framing up a print! -I'm framing 8X10" prints to have available at First Fridays! One coming up this week, September First Friday. in Phoenix (Roosevelt & 5th St) at MADE.

Been lots of redy-ing this week.. and for past many many weeks. By Tuesday I feel like tomorow is Thursday -each day is so busy. Hehe.. But it's good of course.. Just working hard to get lots done.
..For this First Friday! of September, plus just trying to beat time in general. Trying to finish this painting and that painting by this time, to post this time, and must do these other things to prepare things..for things. and So many To-Do lists.. and lists of all sorts of things.. I'm working as hard as I can..I hope to be able to share regularly..Every Monday.

I'm also trying to work on my next series of paintings. They will be portraits 18X24" oil on wood.. and a couple larger ones. I have a (very potential) show that'll be coming up in spring of 2012. Either way.. show or not, I want to make amazing paintings soon.
Have them completed and show where I am at as an Artist..as a painter. But I'll be posting other work (finished prints) weekly till then..! Hopefully. :)

I doodle from just a little while ago.
Oil on gessoed paper. Trying out a new pallete of colors. Back to basics with reds yellow and blues. I'm not the happiest with some of the skin coloring.. but that's one I've always struggled to get "realistic", being as I'm self taught. ..But I've done some research, and feel much more equipped to make awesome work, especially after making tons of practice sketches on cheap gessoed paper!

Amazing things I've run into while surfin the 'net this week, ..that you should see too!

❥ Kanye West, Jay-Z - Otis - I LOVE this. They've made it & they can now enjoy This.

It inspires me.. it reminds of WHY I have to work so hard.. It's because I want to make it too. One day :)

❥ Radiolab Presents Symmetry - this is just awesome. This made me feel awe & almost made me cry. The worlds is Amazing.

❥ Cupcake Cannon - delicious! & messy + colorful! Sidenote: guy at very end shoulda gotten hit!

❥ Abe Lincoln in the clouds... - This is one to stick around for ..if you've got a spare minute & half, Towards to end.. a very Epic Abe Lincoln head forms in the clouds + a lot of other faces & things along the way! "OMG!!!"

++Yesterday I dropped off a couple small paintings over at Regular Gallery. They're having a summer Show. Opening this Friday at 6:30pm. I'll be stopping by to check out all the art. Including some embroidery by MADE's Cindy Dach!

++I will be doing a show with them in April 2012!
I'm gonna start taking further steps on my current in progress prelim paintings.. :) & I'm excited.

I'm sharing cool things I run into on the internet now, every Wednesday from now till forever and ever. Today, it's all about this music video that I've seen recently. It's the most enjoyment I'll ever get out of watching these characters in any form. I like the video for the fact that they portray these Fast Food Crazies as actual real (weird) people.. and it's a well shot video! -Always a plus. It's pretty crazy. Warning; drug use and sexual oddness occurs. Whatever that means. :)

A few weeks ago I participated in Bryn's series of portrait videos. It consists of about 2 minutes of someone staring into the camera at a high frame speed, and when played its a slow gradual still portrait. it's an interesting idea.. Some of the portraits are really nice, I remember one of a lady who smiled during hers, not the entire time.. but it was nice to see a smile. I thought that when it came to be my turn that I would think of so many things while I was looking into nothing towards bright lights. But I mostly just kinda zoned out or meditated in a way, I was just breathing, and holding a stare.. for some reason I didn't come off very natural, it was like I was doing a job, and it was to not look away. My eyes were kinda burning at the time.. towards the end, I had my contacts in (when I still could.. for about an hour).. and they did what uncomfortable contacts do, dry sting-y. Anyway, towards the last closing seconds during the fade out, my facial expression slowly turned into a full smile. I misssed that part the first time I watched the video, from my iphone (that my dad pays for). But I looked at it again this morning, and I saw the smile. And it made me smile.

the weeks after I saw the video.. I guess I reflected.. I saw my weird blinks.. One never closed all the way, and they blink at different times... ? it was way weird for me to see the first time. But, I've been continuing to accept myself over and over, and its sticking more. I recently realized that I could fully look at myself in the mirror and say I love myself. And fully mean it, and fully feel it and that those words cant even explain the feeling. But that took a lot.. Some time ago.. I couldn't really say it. At all. I knew that I would be lying if I said it. I was so sad. That me still creeps in sometimes, and its scary, and I know how horrible that other me often would feel.. But.. I am okay. I can still smile now, and mean it.

Girl Going Under..?

I've recently realized.. again -in a way, that even though I've been painting for 4 years.. & I thought that was a long time, that's actually a kindof short amount of time. Also considering that is me just starting out, & I'm still pretty unknown -in terms of internet feedback/knownness, & also I don't really regularly have gallery shows, I could, but I don't have the work for it yet.. But I'm working on it! :). My point is, that I realized that I am still in that phase, where no one really"cares" what I make right now; it's okay if I draw 20 things & their okay but interesting, than if I made 2 drawings & only 1 of them is really good.., that'd be okay, but Maybe I'd rather just make a LOT of work... than a few good ones.
I want to go back to sharing e v e ry thing i do. At some point I think I got caught up in making, and trying to learn..., but I didn't share step by step as I ..was recording/taking pictures. I don't know why. I think I'd just move on to the next thing & not even stop to really finish the previous one.. Because I wanted to make a better one.
I really have been trying to spend my time better, working on the things that need most to be worked on, at that time.

here's a painting I haven't really shared. It's not quite what I envisioned... But this is what it looks like. This painting doesn't have a tittle yet, feel free to make suggestions in the comments! :) I'm not sure where this one is going.., it might have reached a stopping point.., though as I'm looking at it, I could see adding white silhouettes of leaves & flowers at the edges of it.., :)

Maybe I'll do that, some time, & then call it done. It's oil on 16X20" panel.

Small word-y Update

So, I've been working hard.. I think. I've been re-arranging my Things app, items.. today. Its a program that lets me organize all the things I need to do. SO handy!, but I only figured out about how to best use it yesterday, there was a part or two I was missing, but now I'm caught up.
I maybe, revamped -might be the word, my Etsy Shop. I re-arranged the listings so they would be more appealing & organized to the eye. My work has been really colorful, Not exactly following just one or two color schemes,.. there's quite a lot goin on color wise, and content wise.
I'm working on being more cohesive, I'm also still working on & planning out my next oil paintings.. I want to do a really good job on them. I'm trying to produce a lot of artwork, & advance on/finish older ones. I'm working hard to try to figure out how I could be most successful right now with what I have. While trying to keep on track of what I should be actually painting on,.. It feels complicated. That is what that Things app is for.. and my various lists/scribbling of idea or things to implement in my daily routines (of getting to work).

here's another charcoal sketch I made recently. This is an Instagram photo of it, Today I scanned it, a bit of dodge n burn in photoshop & detailing/Finishing it off with digital paint. I'll share its print version soon as I finish & tittle it! I still have to figure this piece out a little more before its entirely ready.

Here's a corner of my work area. I was working on a watercolor commission(sketched so small on L side of moleskine), for a repeat commission "client", his ideas of what he wants me to paint are fortunately, right up my alley! Also spotted in the photo, are a couple of Dolls!, they really are a couple, they are going to a little girl, whose daddy is Jorge from Hair Pollution, who is gonna cut my hair! He was interested in purchasing a doll, so I asked if he'd want to trade his services for one of them (he does hair), & he agreed. I'll finally have a haircut again!, I haven't gotten one since last year. (& had damaged ends at some point, so I went at my own hair with a pair of scissors. It looked less damaged, but totally unfit for nice hair-down hair styles.. lol..
So, I've been wearing lots of braids. Though it don't matter, I'm just at home painting!

I've yet to figure out it's title, but its nearly finished! Just wanted to share a fuzzy preview..

I've been working a lot digitally recently.. making preliminary paintings of future Oil paintings.. I got carried away and painted a really complicated and would be large painting!!, I don't think I am quite ready to put oil paint to it, but I will one day. For now I stepped back, and am going to be painting a couple girl portraits.. I want to capture the beauty of a stylized girl... and master my techniques basically! I know, to myself, that I'm always drawing portraits-faces-girls.. and it's true.. but not many of them are in form of an original oil painting, I've done a few.. and they are fun!! So I can't wait till I pick my next portrait. Thanks for reading! sorry for the slowing down around the blog. I've been so focused these past few weeks!, trying anyway ever so hard to progress on art work each day. Even if it's behind the scenes!, I'll ramble some more later, along with more art!

I picked these flowers today from my plants and garden outside.. I brought out the glass vase outside and clipped three different flowers.. I didn't want to do this for a long time!, I didn't want to dwindle down my plants from outside. but today had been a stressful day. So it was the perfect time to bring in a little beauty from outside!

i think the small white flowers might be baby's breath or something of that sort, and the small pinks ones, are Namesia I think, and the other are miniature roses, i learned at a nursery(didnt know they existed). I got too excited with the little white ones, i just planted the seeds. the others are store bought, the Namesia at a walmart actually, and the roses from a dollar store. My mom bargain gifted me ten different plants from the dollar store, they were pretty great! the roses were the best, especially these pink/coral colored ones. and they smell beeautiful! Namesias smell the best! like nature baby powder!

it started from a watercolor I made when I first got my watercolor set in January.
We scanned it and Aldo did some fancy stuff digitally to finish it off! He did pretty great! Just enough to make it right. I held back, and did not work on the face any further, it didn't need it.

Ive been digging through lots of my older work, scans of half ideas, sketches, drawings, watercolor doodles of all sorts.. and making more doodles too.

We've been using them for collabs! One approach we have is where Aldo has his hand at unfinished piece by me, and we trade off when/if needed, until the piece feels finished! We've come up with some pretty crazy stuff so far. But only sharing one piece of work per week to not go crazy.

All the work we make is available as prints in our shop. Going through the name of BrokeBot, our new project. We want BrokeBot to be a place were we advertise both of our artworks in one place. With Aldo's great idea making brain, and my need to/attention to detail.. and love for painting faces.. we end up with a good balance.

Why are we doing this?, 'cause were best friends, roommates, both make art, and are really broke! We hope to get a good fan base going ..and hoping to just not be so broke anymore. :)

Hello! just checking in.. gonna share recent stuff.. of no particular relevance & probably, possibly with too many words.

So here is the official first finished piece of artwork by... me & my bff as BrokeBot.
its a collaborative effort... to make a new shop/identity, team up with collabs trying to reach an audience.. trying to sell some art..! just trying to survive.

Thats why its called Broke Bot. Aldo goes by "Champagne Robot" & I sometimes use "Brokeneyeball". so they got combined... & it fits perfect! it's a side thing... I'm hoping for it to take minimum to half at most of my work time.

About to get to work! ..on my "chained girl" painting. It's actually my own take of a drawing made by Aldo a few years ago. He gave it to me, its framed & on a wall. I had thought it was gonna be a really quick painting.. couple ..maybe few days to finish. I just had liked the idea.. but wanted it to look better, in a painted form, rather than fast pencil drawing. I'm trying my best to make it work. It started too rushed, didn't refine enough early on, it led to problems later.
Hope to finish this one soon.

My kitty Obi, recently found a new hidden spot in the house! my hamper is full enough to sustain him at a perfect height, & it is perfectly placed in the open/doorless closet area behind the head of my bed/matress. I can sometimes hear him snore from back there. or I get to catch him entering or exiting his new Fortress!! hehe.

I did some watercoloring the other day.. A hummingbird.. with the other half of BrokeBot, will use for a collab piece.

& a Hedgehog, 'cus, hedgehogs are cute! :P + an interesting challenge.
I'll show scans of these later.. :)

Ive started this painting after..or close to when I was finishing my, now tittled "Hidden Places" painting..

This is the current "detailed room" painting I'm working on. I think these are ones that I test my skill on... I try as best I can. I haven't been sure if I should share the whole thing yet, or if I want it to a sort of surprise/release. I'll keep sharing small bits of it here & there. Trying to finish this one soon too!! Painting takes so long... & so much effort & thinking before beginning. But its the only thing I'd want to try hard at, so it works out! (:

I got this order yesterday. I know him from around town here in phoenix, saw it through facebook, he's a cool guy. He also happens to like my art! and bough my first portrait order yesterday!

I was going to the Japanese Friendship Garden yesterday.. but I didnt know it was closed on Mondays. So, I didnt make it. but I also didnt know there was a park RIGHT next to it! so I walked over and painted there instead. I painted some trees that had white flowers all over, I didnt quite capture the flowers, but it can be a nice background for something. I will paint something over it later! :D I also plan to go to more life drawing sessions, and paint the models. I'm hoping for some nude models, I'd be so excited oil painting from life.. all of those curves and shadows that make up a figure. and try to be accurate! I love the challenge. I might get to attend life drawing at my school I went to, the Art Institute, they have nude models. at Scottsdale artist school, which is Monday nights, their model last time was clothed. I have to go in early next time so I can sit up close for a good portrait painting.
Theres always something awesome, about going to a different location to paint for a set amount of hours. Makes me be productive for that time. lol.

At home, I have to try really hard to make myself paint.. I often end up procrastinating or fighting resistance, or paint for short bits. But I do manage to sit and finish stuff when I decide to. sometimes. I hope to paint a lot more soon, like really soon. I want to finish up so many paintings, but that feeling never changes. I have 3 paintings I'm working on right now, they're all there slowly getting all painted up. I cant wait to finish them.

but for now, I have to finish making some stickers, and complete an order..
Then, maybe Ill paint.

I had a limited palette though, lol. due to a gifted van gogh paint set that had...limited colors. Anyway. It went alright, Second time Life Painting. I hope to do better with skin tones.. and sit closer up next time. hehe. Yeah. Just checking in with what I'm working on.

its pretty neat!, i seem to be clicking on it every so often, from my several opened tabs, at night when I'm sleepy to see if I want to wake up at that time.. or something.

I'm a pretty good sleeper, I sleep all the way through the night most often.

And naturally wake up towards 8 to 9 hours later..

and I like to stay up late.. so..., that means If I want enough sleep I have to settle for getting up later in the day. I like to get up at around 10am now.. Its kinda nice. but, I guess having a morning roommate/bff, really makes me crave long mornings before starting your day a bit.. the head start is pretty awesome. Ive had a few. I'm just typically not into mornings..unless I get full rest early the night before. It always feels "early" before 10. And I don't have a good morning relaxation transitional activity currently. I blame my house (I have no couch & other things).

So it's cool, the website tells me that I'm right in waking up when i do!..even if its a tad not on the early side.

Tonight was First Friday, it was good.. it was alright. I haven't calculated how much I earned yet, but. I think it was good. Now I'm in writing mode. I'm trying to get into that more recently. I used to years ago, but got out of the habit of it, when I started focusing on producing artwork.. and I also.. I partly thought it was too much to indulge so much in my crazy thoughts.

But I feel a healthy amount of it will definitely be good. I do all that honest writing stuff at another location though. That is too much madness & real life stuff for this blog world. This is about my art mind, not my ..the part that makes me make the art.. mind-madness.. !!

I'm just gonna stop writing/talking -now. (: see ya again when I have some art!

I intend to get back to my Weekly Art Postings too. MUST. (weekly posts got neglected during those two weeks) eek.

i wrote a response the other day (about myself or why I make art) more than once recently, actually.

~As I grow as a person, the more ME I become -of course, and also.. the more my interests develop.. some less developed than others, but a very big one being Art...

was a big one(relative) from the start...and continuously getting bigger and bigger. like a bubble of sorts, being blown up (I can picture this exactly and will probably paint it one day). bubbles representing infinite things.. I can talk about art For-Ever, -is what I'm getting at. Believe me. And I don't do this with many people. So I'm sure there is art talk I can't take. but what Art Stuff I know, I love.

this message-talk doesn't sound that bad as I'm writing about it, it just made me think a lot of things. and wanted to put it to words.. I guess...

After that part, I went into detail on helpful how to buy carol art tips basically.. y'know? -not Entirely like that, but kinda..They didn't write much back, just a line or two.

I just got really into what I was writing about, as I am right now.

-It's just that they seemed to appreciate and noticed and described a particular aspect of my art.. in their previous message...

and I really wanted to share how much I love making that art..

and why I make it... and that I feel I'm made for making art.. and that I thought it was cool they saw "...the way you depict their emotion. i just feel an intensity.. not a lot of people can capture that perfectly, i love the colors the pastels the dark and storybook type setting..." ..but it's always ~hard trying to express such things.. (about the passion you have) it really is only for yourself.., Not everyone might care about..why you do that thing you do.. And it doesn't matter if 'they' do or don't.

You don't do it for them. You do it for your own happiness..

but he really liked this painting, My friend's cousin was saying to his friend, at his wedding celebration, ..how quick he knew he had to have it, and snatched it up before it even was tittled, -it's still not tittled. :) I'm so happy you got her!

Doll-talk

for a second yesterday..I had 3 dolls listed in my shop.. I was excited 'cus then maybe I'd add another & another.. ..& then I'd have several dolls in my shop. & then it sold!

(: so now I have 2 again.

I got invited to do a group show at 5 & 6 gallery.. in March its Toy Themed..

I'm gonna hand over some dolls for that one.. its already nearing to march, not sure what day it is.. probably first thursday. so I probably can't go too elaborate. I might just end up doing dolls hanging on wall.. maybe a few empty frames around them? maybe nothing. if I had enough time.. I could work out a sort of ~box or shelf.. gather small things for them, create a scene as their hangout. but I might be short on time for that. I'd rather just make cool dolls.

detailed faces. good colors. fully oil painted ones.., at least one. an in-progress one, on my wall.

..I keep wanting to make a new doll design/pattern.. I've been experimenting with one, but not one..that is working quite yet, have to do some more figuring out. ...anyway..that is all, just came in for some doll talk.
